Beck's new album (his 10th) "Modern Guilt" comes out July 8. It was done by producer du jour Danger Mouse and features a guest appearance by Cat Power. It's 10 new songs and the album lasts just shy of 30 minutes. You can hear the first single "Chemtrails" on his My Space page.
Radiohead's old label EMI/Parlophone released a DVD compilation of (almost) all of their music videos. 21 to be exact. As cashgrabs go, I approve of this one. I always wanted their complete videography all on one DVD and by god now I do.

Some actual concrete news from Autolux about their new album 4 years in the making.
It shall be titled "Transit Transit" and it will be self released. Right now, they're offering the first single "Audience No. 2" on their website for free.

However, they do give you the option of making a donation for the track. Since the money will go directly into their pockets, I would encourage each and everyone one of you to give. Even a dollar will make a difference. They sure as hell deserve every red cent they get.
As for the album, who knows when it will come out but at least things appear to be in motion for an imminent release.
The new album from People In Planes titled "Beyond the Horizon" comes out June 24th.
The line-up for the third annual Osheaga Music Festival as been announced. This year, it will be held on August 3 and 4.
Pretty wicked batch of bands that's showing up for this edition, not counting Jack Johnson (seriously?) or The Killers but great artists like Broken Social Scene, The Kills, Spiritualized, Iggy And The Stooges, Cat Power, CSS, The Go! Team, The Black Keys, The Weakerthans ... Etc. Day 2 is cleary the better day of the whole thing and the passes are cheaper this year so you have no excuses not to go.
And finally, the reunited My Bloody Valentine will do a show in Toronto on September 25 at the Ricoh Coliseum. From what my Toronto buddies have told me, The Ricoh is by far the shittiest venue around. Apparently, the sound in there is just god awful and that knowing MBV is all about crazy wall of sounds, you would've tought they would've chosen a better venue. But hey! Whatcha gonna do. Sadly, no Montreal date so we'll have to carpool our sorry Quebecois asses down the 411 to catch them in action.

Sadly this year, the organizers decided not to offer this great way to sample bands you might want to check out during the fest but someone did take the time to do an "unoffical" torrent and you can download it from here.

There's two great interviews in the Fall 2007 edition of me favorite magazine "Under The Radar".
#1: Is with ex-singer/guitarist/songwriter "Miki Berenyi" of 90's shoegaze pop band Lush. You might best remember Miki for her bright, red colored hair aswell as the voice behind two great britop hits of the mid 90's "Single Girl" and "Ladykiller".
She talks about the heyday of the shoegaze scene, why she's been out of the spotlight for the last 10 years, the death of drummer Chris Acland (he hanged himself back in 1996) and if she'll ever do music full-time again. A great interview done by local music journalist, Lorraine Carpenter. Kudos to you, good madam.
